Emerald gritted his teeth angrily, his furious alter ego couldn't believe what he was doing

now! Desperate and panicking that Amehia may die, he rushed back after acting like he didn't care about her or Tyrannus at all.

His crimson eyes were boiling with anger, because these feelings, no matter how many demonic souls composed him, would never go away!

"Despite how pathetic you are, to think that the only emotion strong enough to control us was your damn love for her?! Disgusting, you're so damn disgusting, other me!"

He wanted to stop right this moment and go back to destroy anything he could and show Drake, Surtr, and everyone else just how powerful he could be.

But in the end none of that mattered to him if Amehia was hurt!

He flew through the skies, with all four of his gigantic new, demonic and blazing wings, as he reached the area where Amehia was.

However, as he drew closer...

RUMBLE!

The ground beneath him trembled, as dozens of gigantic Divine Monsters roared, leaping towards him!

Most of them were capable of both flying and roaming through the ground. Some resembled massive flying monkeys with red fur and bat-like wings covered with magma and purple fire, some were wyverns and winged wurms, draconic-type monsters of varying sizes and appearances.

And others were literal Elementals, beings made entirely out of Elements themselves, cousins of Spirits that had gone feral, becoming monstrous creatures that devoured elements and magical power to sustain themselves, instead of living in harmony with the world's elements themselves.

And most of these flying monsters were birds, slightly similar to him on his new demonic appearance, although much smaller and with a more beastly look, with sharp blade-like beaks and many wings and sharp talons, some even akin to Phoenixes, although not quite like them.

"ROOOAARRR!"

"SHYAAAAAH!"

"GRUOOOHH!"

And the majority of such monsters were between Rank 8 to 9! Emerald would've panicked by seeing so many beings coming at him, especially as strong as they were.

However, the alter ego he gained had no such weaknesses, smiling back at the monsters incoming as his sharp, scaled claws blazed with demonic flames and black winds.

"You want to die so badly? Good! I was feeling hungry for some souls either way...!"

He licked his beak viciously, as he became the vessel of so many demonic souls merged together, he now had a great appetite for souls.

BOOOMMM!!!

Tyrannus glanced in awe and disbelief, his lower jaw almost dropping into the ground as he saw the gigantic figure of Emerald, who he thought had left them behind, descending from the skies and landing over the pieces of roasted snail.

"E-Emerald...! You came back...!"

As he smiled in relief, Emerald ignored him completely, using his claws to tear open the tentacles and freeing Amehia, who seemed unconscious! Her lifeforce was also very weak, and

she wasn't breathing either.

"M-My daughter!"

Tyrannus ran towards her, as Emerald held her in his hands, with eyes filled with contempt, his powers could not heal anybody but himself, his face was filled with frustration.

"Amehia...! Amehia, wake up! Amehia!"

He started suddenly crying out of nowhere, blood tears at that, making Tyrannus shocked.

"Is she okay?! Hey, Emerald!"

"No...! No, no, no! Amehia! AMEHIAAAAA!"

Emerald started crying as he carried the body of Amehia with his hands...

Realizing what happened, Tyrannus gasped, falling to his knees.

"N-No...! She's...?! No...!"

Emerald's hands kept trembling, as even his alter ego was being shattered apart even further.

"D-Dammit! If this is the only way...! Unnnggh!"

He roared furiously, as suddenly, half of his face changed, no, half of his body changed entirely, the red and black feathers changed into green and golden feathers, as the light of the

original Emerald emerged within his left eye.

"DO IT, YOU WEAKLING! HEAL HER RIGHT NOW!"

"I'm on it already! Do you think I would even hesitate when it comes to her?!"

Against all expectations, the alter ego asked for help to Emerald's original personality.@@@@
