Chapter 230 Weight
Chapter 230 Weight
Roman couldn’t blame them if they didn’t believe him.
If he were the one being told, he wouldn’t believe it either, but he knew it had to be true; after all, he was reincarnated by the goddess of this world, and it’s something she’s capable of doing.
But at the rate things were moving, it was going too fast, and the world wouldn’t wait for her to catch up.
"Did you find out what his way to win was?" Evelyn asked.
"No, the vision stopped before that."
"So if the artifacts had the souls of people all this while, why haven’t the ones in Avalon picked someone? Does that mean no one in this kingdom is worthy of them?" Evelyn remarked.
"I don’t think that’s the case, I think the artifacts don’t take strength into account that much, it chooses something different, probably," Roman muttered.
"What do you think about her plan, since you’re the one pushing for the attack on Vernhall?"
Evelyn looked at Victoria as she asked.
"I think demons should be eradicated from the face of the world. If she really plans to attack Vernhall, I don’t see any reason for the kingdom not to help. We could convince the others and prepare for a large-scale invasion to destroy them forever," Victoria spoke without her face changing expression.
She was dead serious; to her, the battle had dragged on long enough. She was born into this world, but she wanted to make a difference before leaving, even if that meant dying on the battlefield.
"If the demon queen is still sealed, we should form a small team, a team that can move quickly, take less space, and be made up of powerful mages, that way the loss would be minimal," Evelyn spoke.
"True, but should we really trust her not to turn on us? For all we know, she could have been sent by the demon queen. No one thought of that possibility," Victoria spoke.
"We’ll table that discussion after the Queen makes her decision...now back to you, so with all your magical abilities, you couldn’t easily defeat two other mages, what has Victoria been teaching you?"
"Two other mages? They’re the strongest in my class, and it was basically two on one," Roman replied almost immediately.
"So...when we were in the academy, the only person who could keep up with me was Victoria, and back then, I only mastered wind spells," Evelyn spoke.
"You can’t compare to him... Sure, he’s determined and usually progresses quickly, but he also gets stuck on tiny things like mana control and basic combat exercises," Victoria spoke.
"You can’t really blame him or wait, you wanted to attend the academy before you knew about your rank, right? Why didn’t you train back then?" Evelyn asked.
"Back then, I was just thinking of the possibility; it’s not like the kingdom would let me attend, but then the awakening ceremony."
"So Evelyn, what do you think about him? Is he worth training?" Victoria asked Evelyn.
"Do we have a choice? He’s supposed to be the new founder of magic, leading the way. We have to train him...does he respond well to pain?"
"Ohh yes, I used that on him a lot, all of our combat exercises involve me just beating him, and he really did improve, a little bit still an improvement," Victoria replied.
Roman stood there staring at both of them as they talked about putting him through even more pain when training him, but an idea came to his head.
"I have something to show you, it’s a new spell, it might be a little surprising, maybe not to you two, but it was to me. Also, I need a lot of mana, so I’d like your help," Roman spoke, looking at Victoria.
"I’ll cast the spell on you; it’s like a barrier spell, you just have to stand still."
"You do know we’re inside, right, and there’s an unconscious person right here?"
Victoria uttered as she walked behind Roman.
"It’ll only affect Miss Evelyn, there’s nothing to worry about, also, since it’s Miss Victoria’s mana, you might want to protect yourself better," Roman spoke.
"Really, from your spell... I’ll make it more interesting, if I take a single step because of your spell, I’ll grant you one favor, anything," Evelyn said.
Roman nodded his head as a smile formed on his face. He wanted to show them his gravity spell so they would be serious about teaching him, but now she had done it.
Since it was Victoria’s mana, he could go as wild as he wanted; the only thing was that he wouldn’t be able to hold the spell for long because of his stamina.
"Here I go," Roman spoke, and Evelyn covered her entire body with mana and took a stance, not knowing what was coming.
Roman took a deep breath as he felt an overflow of mana. Victoria was infusing mana into his body, and he stretched his hands forward. Immediately, the first rune formed, and both of their eyes widened. They had no idea he knew advanced rune magic.
Next, the second rune formed, but nothing was happening, causing both of them to be even more surprised.
A standard advanced rune magic was usually only two runes fused, but since nothing was happening, it seemed Roman wanted to add a third rune.
Roman was already feeling the weight of the spell, but he couldn’t run out of mana, and then he added the third rune.
In an instant, Evelyn could feel the force of something pushing down on her; she couldn’t stand up straight and had to bend a little, but that was the worst decision as gravity slammed her right into the floor.
*THUD!!*
She landed with a loud thud, and Roman quickly stopped the spell as Victoria backed away a little. Sweat beads had already formed on Roman’s face as he sat on the ground with a smile on his face.
"What is that spell?" Evelyn asked as she jumped to her feet. She didn’t have a single scratch on her.
