Chapter 205 - 206: Everyone will come for you
Chapter 205 - 206: Everyone will come for you
Meiling huddled in the shadows of the crumbling dark building, her chest heaving with ragged breaths. The air was thick with the stench of decay and salt from the nearby ocean.
She pressed her back against the cold stone wall, peering through a broken crack in the boarded-up window. Outside, shambling figures moved like ghosts in the dim sky.
These were her clan members, the ones who had escaped the initial chaos with her. But now, they were twisted into something nightmarish, their eyes red and vacant and their movements jerky, controlled by unseen forces.
Attached to the tops of their heads were those hideous red crab-like monsters, their pincers digging into flesh and skulls. The creatures pulsed with a faint crimson glow, directing their hosts like puppets.
The zombies trudged forward slowly, their arms outstretched, attacking anything that showed signs of life.
Meiling's heart pounded. "How did it come to this?" she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible. "They were my family, my allies. Now they're just... monsters."
She glanced down at her hands, where thin threads of golden energy began to form, shimmering faintly in the darkness. But as she tried to weave them into shape, exhaustion washed over her like a tidal wave. "I am too exhausted to fight right now," she muttered, watching the threads flicker and then dissolve, falling lifeless to the dusty floor like wilted strings.
Her body ached from the endless running and battles, and her Imperial Qi reserves were drained to nothing. Carrying her comatose mother, Lan Xinyue, on her back had only added to the strain.
A sudden crash echoed through the building as one of the zombies burst through the weakened door, its rotten fingers clawing at the air. Meiling froze, her hands balling into fists.
She was ready to get her hands dirty, to scratch and fight with whatever strength she had left. But the zombie paused, its head tilting unnaturally as the crab monster on its skull clicked its pincers. It sniffed the air, then shuffled past her hiding spot without a glance, lumbering back out into the night.
Meiling's eyes widened in confusion. "It didn't see me? Why?" She stayed still for a long moment, her mind racing. Then it hit her like a bolt of lightning. "As long as I am empty of power, they won't even notice me." The realization sent a chill down her spine.
These creatures weren't hunting randomly; they were drawn to power, to energy. "That's how dangerous this is," she said aloud, her voice trembling. "They must be going to the place where the highest concentration of power is. And right now, that's none other than Norbata City, where Ren is."
Panic surged through her. He was in the heart of the city, rallying what forces remained. If these zombies swarmed there, it would be a massacre. "I have to warn him. I have to get there first!" Meiling whispered urgently to herself.
She pushed off the wall, slinging her mother's limp body more securely over her shoulder. Lan Xinyue's breathing was shallow, her face pale in the coma that had gripped her since the battle at the base.
Meiling stepped out cautiously, limping on her injured leg. Each step sent jolts of pain through her body, but fear drove her forward. "Just a little further," she encouraged herself. "You can do this, Meiling. For Mother, for the clan, for Ren." But after only a few steps, her knees buckled.
She collapsed to the ground with a gasp, the weight of her mother pulling her down. Dirt and gravel bit into her palms as she caught herself.
As she lay there, panting, a strange warmth began to build inside her. Her Imperial Qi was regenerating slowly, trickling back into her veins like a leaking faucet. It was out of her control, her body's natural response to the rest. "No, not now," she groaned. "Stop it! I can't afford this!" But the energy kept flowing, a faint aura flickering around her like a beacon in the night.
The zombies noticed immediately. Their heads snapped toward her in unison, the crab monsters on their skulls glowing brighter. A low, guttural moan rose from the horde as they turned, their shuffling steps quickening into a purposeful march.
Shadows elongated in the moonlight, making their twisted forms even more grotesque. One zombie, a former elder with graying hair matted in blood, dragged its feet closer, its mouth hanging open in a silent scream.
Meiling's blood ran cold. "Stay back!" she shouted, scrambling to her feet. But they kept coming, surrounding her from all sides. The air filled with the sickening click-clack of the crabs' pincers and the drag of decayed feet on the ground. "This is it," she thought, her voice breaking into a whisper. "I can't fight them all. Mother, I'm sorry."
The closest zombie lunged, its fingers inches from her throat. Meiling raised her arms to shield herself, but suddenly, her eyes started to water. Tears welled up unbidden, blurring her vision.
She looked around wildly, a profound loneliness crashing over her like an invisible wave. It wasn't just fear; it was an emptiness that hollowed her out, as if a part of her soul had been ripped away. "What the hell is going on?" she asked herself, her voice choked with confusion. "Why do I feel so... alone? Like something's missing that I never even knew was there."
The zombies paused for a split second, as if sensing her turmoil, but then pressed forward again. Their grotesque faces loomed closer, the crabs hissing in anticipation.
Meiling's gaze darted to her mother, whom she had been carrying all this time. Lan Xinyue lay slumped against her, still in her deep coma. But now, tears were falling from the corners of her eyes, trailing down her cheeks in silent streams.
"Mother?" Meiling whispered, her heart twisting. "You're... crying too?" Before she could process it, Xinyue's body began to grow cold. It started at her fingertips, spreading like frost across her skin. Meiling felt the chill seep through her clothes, numbing her arms. "No, Mother! What's happening? Wake up! Please, say something!"
The cold intensified, Xinyue's skin turning pale blue. The air around them dropped in temperature, Meiling's breath visible in puffs of white. "It's too cold," Meiling stammered. "I can't... I can't hold on." But then, the chill exploded outward.
A surge of icy power radiated from Xinyue's body, freezing the ground in a widening circle. Frost crackled across the dirt, climbing up the zombies' legs like vines of ice.
The creatures halted, their bodies encasing in thick layers of frost. One zombie's arm shattered mid-reach, crumbling to frozen shards. Another tried to moan, but its jaw locked solid. The crab monsters screeched in fury, their pincers freezing mid-click.
The entire area turned into a winter wasteland, the zombies immobilized like statues in a glacial tomb. Meiling stared in awe, the tears on her face turning to tiny ice crystals. "Mother... you did this? How?"
In the distance, where Lan base previously was, the gigantic red monster stirred. It had been rampaging through the remnants, its massive body thrashing in exhaustion.
But now, it lifted its enormous head, sensing the surge of power like a predator catching a scent. Its single massive eye narrowed, and a deep, rumbling growl escaped its throat. The sound echoed across the waves, filled with a twisted happiness. "Finally," it seemed to say without words. "I have found what I am looking for."

Meanwhile, Mei was kneeling right in front of Ren, her hands fumbling forcefully with his belt buckle. She yanked at his pants, desperate to pull them down and wrap her lips around his cock.
Ren looked down at her with an annoyed expression, trying to twist away from her grasp. "Is this what you wanted to tell me?" he asked, his voice laced with irritation as he pushed at her shoulders.
Mei ignored his resistance, her eyes wild with hunger. "Just a lick, baby," she pleaded, her voice breathy and urgent. "I can't take it anymore. Just one lick." Her thighs trembled, and clear love juices dripped from between her legs, pooling on the floor beneath her in a messy puddle.
Ren's patience snapped. He shoved her back with a kick, not too hard but enough to send her sprawling.
Mei clutched her forehead where his foot had grazed her, tears welling up in her eyes as she stared up at him. "You died, Ren," she muttered, her voice cracking. "You died. Your old loop... now you're in the hunt officially."
Ren frowned, stepping back a bit. "What do you mean?"
Mei wiped at her tears, her expression shifting to something darker, more obsessive. "Every woman that's destined to be with you... they'll find you now. They can feel it. They won't stop until you're the only thing in their life."
Ren glanced down at her, processing her words. "Doesn't that include you too?"
Mei let out a sharp laugh, almost manic, as she got back on her hands and knees. "Yes, that mainly includes me." She crawled toward him again, her tongue darting out to lick at his legs, starting from his calves and working her way up.
Ren, who had been resisting fiercely before, now stood there frozen in thought. His pants slipped down to the floor as her hands tugged them free. He didn't stop her this time, his mind racing.
"So what am I supposed to do?" he asked, his voice quieter now. "Just take it?"
Mei was dangerously close to his penis, her hot breath brushing against it as she looked up with a possessive gleam. "I don't know, baby," she muttered. "I will kill every other woman that comes close to you from now on. I've been holding back, but I can't anymore. The desire is too much. So you better be prepared for what is about to come."
Ren's eyes flicked to his system screen, pulling it up in his mind. His eyes went wide as he noticed something odd about it the relationships section had exploded with entries. More than twenty women listed, most of them shrouded in question marks.
